Hi, welcome to Prudent Dreamer. I’m a thirty-something working professional living in Singapore.
Growing up, money management is not something that my parents or my school teach me about. When I received my first salary from my first job, I didn’t know what to do.
That was the beginning of my curiosity about personal finance. As an avid explorer (literally and figuratively), I was constantly searching for ways to make my money works harder.
I even paid for thousand-dollar seminars to learn about money, which I now regret and wouldn’t recommend anyone to do.
Looking back, I wish that I had a mentor who could teach me about money.
Why do I start this blog?
My first reason for starting this blog is to share the financial lessons I’ve learned so that new graduates will not make the same mistakes like the younger me.
Secondly, as I go through different phases in my life (a young working adult, a tenant, a self-employed person, a pet owner, a couple without kids, a parent, a homeowner), I’ve gained plenty of on-ground experiences that many have not been though. So, I wish to share these experiences and perspectives to help other people navigate these paths in their lives.
Lastly, as someone who loves writing, I need an outlet to write about my financial goals and aspirations. In other words, this blog is something like my finance diary.
I hope this blog helps you in one way or another.
